Riad Cabrera Restaurant

Set high up in the Sierra Cabrera Mountains is the new purpose built restaurant of Riad Cabrera. Many visitors and the local’s already know Fatima, the proprietor, from the smaller tapas bar she owns in Cabrera, situated just under the Moorish Archway at the entrance to the village.

Riad Cabrera is located in a tranquil setting with spectacular views towards the Mediterranean. Only a short drive from Mojacar, visitors will experience one of the most delightful restaurants in the region. The restaurant caters for all tastes and has one of the most extensive menus in the area. Car parking is plentiful. The welcome and courtesy of the staff are not to be missed.

Starters

Fresh spinach salad with parmesan cheese and crispy dry Iberian ham.
Mixed Italian salad with cherry tomatoes, assorted nuts and cheese salad dressing.

Half moon pasta stuffed with wild mushrooms and white truffle of alba cream.
Black risotto with small squids, king prawns and crisp ham.
Creamy vegetarian risotto (courgette, celery and leeks) cooked with champagne.
Aubergines and courgette's in tempura with soya sauce

Sirloin steak with Pedro Ximenez wine sauce, vegetables and potato gratin on the side
Roast boneless lamb, Arab style, called “Mechoui” with coriander sauce served with pumpkin and grilled provolone.
Roast suckling in segovian mashed granny smith apple and potato.
Lamb or Organic Chicken, cous-cous, vegetables, currants, sesame with atlas aroma.
“Pastela” puff pastry top, casserole spiced tagin with vegetables of the season.
Fatima’s traditional recipe. Pheasant “Desert Flower” stuffed with almonds, onion confit and sesame

Fish Dishes

Fresh loin of fresh tuna grilled with crispy vegetables.
Candied desalted cod with brandade, Spanish style with olive oil, garlic and potatoes.
Fresh tuna scallops rolled and fried in sesame with teriyaki sauce.
Fresh hake loin grilled in the “bilbaina” style with tasty vegetable.

We will be returning here on many occasions to sample this extensive menu and the warm hospitality we received from Fatima and her staff. The restaurant has been built using Moorish Architecture that sits perfectly with its surroundings and the environment.
